This course equips students with the essential knowledge and practical skills they need to develop, manage and participate in PPM business processes. The course materials have been part of the syllabus for the Masters in Business in IT Management Program at the University of Technology, Sydney since 2004.
In addition to lecture materials the course provides practical demonstrations of "how to do it" using both an industry leading PPM tool and build-your-own Excel models which have been developed and proven in practice over many years.
Practical: Students will be provided with helpful and easy to use FREE templates and models that they can take away with them and start using immediately. In addition, students will be provided with FREE online access to a "sandpit" instance of an industry leading PPM tool in order to practice the techniques covered in the lectures.
In today's global knowledge economy businesses need to differentiate themselves by constantly investing in and developing new and innovative products and services. It is more critical than ever that business and IT leaders collaborate to optimize the value of their organisation's human resources, digital and other assets by making prudent project investment decisions. Project Portfolio Management (PPM) is the set of management disciplines through which this alignment is achieved.
